The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA)® provides practical information, community based services and support to people through a network of Regional Chapters, Eduational Support Groups and other Local Partners around the United States. Alzheimer's Disease
The Alzheimer's Association® is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. Their mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research, to provide and enhance care and support for all affected and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
The Alzheimer's Disease Education and Referral (ADEAR) Center was created by the U.S. Congress in 1990 to 'compile, archive, and disseminate information concerning Alzheimer's disease' for health professionals, people with AD and their families, and the public. The ADEAR Center is operated as a service of the National Institute on Aging (NIA), one of the Federal Government's National Institutes of Health and part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Arthritis
The Arthritis Foundation® is the only national not-for-profit organization that supports the more than 100 types of arthritis and related conditions. Founded in 1948, with headquarters in Atlanta, the Arthritis Foundation has multiple service points located throughout the country. The Arthritis Foundation® is the largest private, not-for-profit contributor to arthritis research in the world, funding more than $380 million in research grants since 1948.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)® and its partners are working to implement recommendations in the National Arthritis Action Plan: A Public Health Strategy. This landmark public health plan was developed by CDC, the Arthritis Foundation, the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, and more than 90 other organizations. It recommends a variety of activities to reduce pain, disability, and improve the quality of life of persons affected by arthritis.
Breastfeeding
La Leche League International (LLLI)® was
founded to give information and encouragement, mainly through personal
help, to all mothers who want to breastfeed their babies. While
complementing the care of the physician and other health care professionals,
it recognizes the unique importance of one mother helping another
to perceive the needs of her child and to learn the best means of
fulfilling those needs. LLLI believes that breastfeeding,
with its many important physical and psychological advantages,
is best for baby and mother and is the ideal way to initiate good
parent-child relationships.
Cancer
The American Cancer Society® is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.
The American Breast Cancer Foundation (ABCF) promotes health
education and provides life saving breast cancer screening assistance
through outreach events. One such event is the Remote Area Medical (RAM)
Expedition. The Remote Area Medical Expeditions are held in

Cardiovascular Disease
The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is 'Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.' The association's impact goal is to reduce coronary heart disease, stroke and risk by 25 percent by 2010.
Child Health
The National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome (NCSBS) is the only worldwide organization that is
dedicated solely to the prevention of this form of child abuse. Their mission is 'to educate and train parents and professionals, and to conduct
research that will prevent the shaking and abuse of infants in the
United States.'
KidsHealth®
is a project of The Nemours Center for Children's Health Media, part of
The Nemours Foundation, an organization created by philanthropist
Alfred I. duPont in 1936 and devoted to improving the health of

projects about children's health and development for parents, kids and
teens.
Chrohn's Disease / Colitis
Chrohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) sponsors basic and clinical research of the highest quality. fibrosis. It funds and accredits more than 115 CF care centers, 95

Diabetes
The American Diabetes Association (ADA)®
is leading the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes and
fighting for those affected by diabetes. The Association funds
research to prevent, cure and manage diabetes; delivers services to
hundreds of communities; provides objective and credible information;
and gives voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes.

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF)
is a leader in setting the agenda for diabetes research worldwide, and
is the largest charitable funder and advocate of type 1 research. The
mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications
through the support of research. Type 1 diabetes is a disease which
strikes children and adults suddenly and requires multiple injections
of insulin daily or a continuous infusion of insulin through a pump.
Insulin, however, is not a cure for diabetes, nor does it prevent its
